KJ-WIP: Kid's character design


Because he is the character representing the player, Kid is the main character of the game, so his realization is important to us above all else.

The 2D sprite of the character was initially created and even animated with Krita. But, in order to achieve more convincing animations, the work now is to start from the 3D model of the character. Blender is our tool for this.

We consider that the animations are essential, they indeed define the possible actions of the character in game. So we are aiming to realize at first the base animations of Kid, with Blender.

For now, Kid is in sit pose facing the player, this is his default idle posture. But he will go forward by crawling, right or left.

What we plan to do in fact is to create the key poses with the 3D character, and then postpone them in Krita for the final 2D framed animation.
